Leh was the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, now the Leh District in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Leh, with an area of 45,110 km, is the second largest district in the country (after Kutch, Gujarat) in terms of area.

The town is still dominated by the now ruined Leh Palace, former mansion of the royal family of Ladakh, built in the same style and about the same time as the Potala Palace. Leh is at an altitude of 3524 metres (11,562 ft) , and connects via National Highway 1D connects it to Srinagar in the southwest and to Manali in the south via Leh-Manali Highway

DAY 01 LEH

On arrival Leh transfer to the hotel/resort. Acclimatize yourself to the high altitude (11,500 ft / 3500 meter high from sea level). Visit Shankar Gompha, Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa followed by a walk tour in Leh Bazaar for orientation. Over night stay at the hotel/resort.

DAY 02 LEH - ALCHI - LEH (Approxi. 70 km / 3 - 4 hrs drive)

Proceed for Alchi to visit the 11th century Alchi monastery, oldest surviving monastic complex of Ladakh and famous for its paintings and architecture. While return en route view Sangam (confluence of the Indus & Zanskar rivers), check the Magnetic Point, visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and Spituk Monastery, especially the Temple of Paldan Lhamo (female Dharmapala of the Buddhist pantheon), which is revered by Hindu devotees as Kali-ka-Mandir. Over night stay at the hotel/resort.

DAY 03 LEH - PANGONG LAKE - LEH (Approxi. 145 km / 4 - 5 hrs drive)

Proceed for Pangong Lake via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.) Pangong Lake (alt: 14,500 ft.) is 4-5 km wide and over 135 km long. About two-third of the lake lies on the other side of the Indo-China Border. Over night stay at the hotel/resort.

DAY 04 LEH - SHEY - THIKSE - HEMIS - LEH (Approxi. 50 km round trip / 4 hrs drive)

Visit Shey-Thikse and Hemis Monasteries. On the way back visit the Sindhu Ghat and stok Museum.Over night stay at the hotel/resort.

DAY 05 LEH - KHARDONG - LA PASS - NUBRA VALLEY (Approxi. 85 km / 4 hrs drive)

After early breakfast at the hotel departure to Nubra Valley en route visit Khardongla pass 18,380 ft.), highest motorable pass in the world, recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. Enjoy panoramic views of the Indus valley and the Himalayan ranges.On arrival at Nubra valley check into Overnight at the tent.

DAY 06 NUBRA VALLEY - LEH (Approxi. 85 km / 4 hrs drive)

Day at leisure. After lunch proceed to Leh. On arrival at Leh transfer to the Hotel. Evening is free for shopping. Over night at hotel.

DAY 07 LEH

Transfer to the airport/Bus/Taxi stand to board your flight/vehicle to your final destination. Tour ends with happy & sweet memories of the tour.
