I am Marvel Umed. I am as old as the kingship was and young as dew drops are. Standing at times square, I had witnessed ancient armaments, royal rituals, cultivating culture, tremendous tastes, lavishly living with all touches, sounds, silence and scents. In fact, time stays in me as Royals of Rajputana retreats in my premises.
I am a Heritage monument built by Thakur Shaitan Singh of Nimbhera estate of Jodhpur province when kingship was the form state in the India under the British rule. The roots of my ancientness are as old as the Jodhpur State is. Jodhpur was founded by my 18th forefather, Rao Jodha. I am having an inherited value to build, preserve and hand over that to the generation next.
One can find all the erudition regarding royals and princely livings, with me. I am staying as stopped watch and illustrating the history with all its observances and rites because, I know the quest of human, meaning of memories and romance with the past.
My every thing work as a story-teller. If one enters, things start saying, Once there was a King, and Kingship revives. One reads diary of royals and virtualizes the virgin history. These are 'the moments' that recalls, Vini, Vidi, Vici. At departure one says only, thus lived the King.
I am second after the Camera that catches the time. To be with me is to be with the ancient princely time when kingship was in existence and art and culture were at its high.
If you are a globe-trotter, I am for you. You could enjoy all the flora and fauna of Rajputana with me by living in the midst of a real ancient ambience. Exquisite 15 royal suites are only for exquisite people like you. Every suites is having own flavour and historicity. Interior is the finest example of human creativity and exterior is a saga betwixt mystery and romance of man and nature.
My multi cuisine restaurant makes you gourmand with all herbs and hygiene's. The voodoo of ethnic Bar catches forever. Its sumptuous tempts and immortalize the fragrance of vineyards. It provokes the inner deep routed nostalgia and creates the symphony that nourishes your soul. One can participate in all the vibrant Indian festivals with the flavour of typical Marwari ethos. I do organize all the festivals including Holi, Marwar Festival, Deepawali, Desert Festivals, Gangaur, Ghoomar, Dandiya, Garbha, Gair and Sheetlashtmi.
Folk Rajasthani music, instrumental heritage and desert gypsy dances by ancient tribal and gypsy communities like Kalbelia, Nat, Jogi, Manganiar and Langa are our regular features for conventional amusement.
Desert Safari's pleasure and rural Rajasthan's rejoice are always there at your call on vintage cars and traditional Camel, Horse and Bull Carts. I am waiting to serve you Royal Jovial with an exclusive view of entire blue city including Mehrangarh Fort and Ummed Bhawan Palace. |
